About Rotary in the South Pacific Region
People of Action in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific
Rotary is a worldwide network of more than 1.4 million business, professional and community leaders. Rotary was first established in Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland and Wellington in 1921, and since then clubs have been formed through Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands.
Members of Rotary clubs ("Rotarians") and Rotaract clubs ("Rotaractors") provide humanitarian and community service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. Common causes tackled here in the South Pacific region include addressing homelessness, domestic violence, and mental health. We also work with promoting education and leadership development opportunities, as well as providing aid overseas in 7 Areas of Focus.
Offering a World of Opportunity
There's an enormous breadth to what Rotary offers, from camps and exchanges, to networking, scholarships, hands-on volunteer work and much more.
We offer opportunities for all ages, from young children, teens, and young adults to those later in life. There are plenty of ways to participate in a Rotary project or event. We're always looking for people who can benefit from our programs and those who want to help plan and implement them. These days, members of Rotary and Rotaract clubs may meet in person or online and participate in various projects and events, depending on their area of interest. Clubs are nonpolitical, nonreligious, and open to all genders, cultures, races and creeds.
We'd love to hear from you if you have a cause you'd like to help with!
