As communities across Nepal deal with the devastating impact of the disaster, the immediate focus is where it should be — on the people who have lost loved ones, homes and livelihoods, and those still waiting for news.

Rotary clubs and volunteers are already mobilising, working alongside local organisations and communities to respond to immediate needs.

Across affected areas, supplies are being gathered, donation drop-off points and clothing drives have been established, and Rotary clubs are working with AquaAid to help provide essential support. Disaster Aid Nepal is also on the ground assisting with relief efforts.

Rotary South Pacific is staying closely connected with Rotary International and those responding locally so we can continue to share verified information and, importantly, help direct support to where it is needed most.

There is a long road ahead for many communities. Right now, it is about doing what we can, where we can, and supporting those already on the ground.

Rotary South Pacific extends its heartfelt thoughts and deepest sympathies to the people of Nepal.
