On behalf of Rotary South Pacific, a very warm Kia Ora, G'day, Bula, Bonjour, to everyone across our region.
As we embark on the third year of the Pilot, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on how the pilot is impacting our local clubs, community groups and you, the members. Rotary South Pacific is in place to help create lasting impact, grow membership, and enhance Rotary's brand in our part of the world. This past year, we've seen real traction as clubs continue to become more involved with Rotary South Pacific.
Zone-wide projects for your clubs
In May, we saw 100 clubs across the South Pacific roll up their sleeves to collectively support their communities through the 'Epic Day of Service'. Not only did this project create opportunities for clubs to connect with local community members and make a difference, but each club also directly contributed to improving the lives of people in the South Pacific and beyond. We look forward to seeing this project grow and deliver an even greater impact in 2027.
Innovative membership options
When it comes to membership, we are seeing clubs take innovative approaches to attracting members. As part of the pilot, Rotary South Pacific has introduced a zone-wide e-club for Rotaractors.
Rotaract E-Club Downunder has already garnered significant interest, with an average of one new member joining every week since it chartered in April 2026, with an additional 46 members on a three-month trial.
What's so great about this club? It creates a flexible entry point to the Rotary family, allowing young people to join from anywhere in the South Pacific. Importantly, it also provides a sustainable pathway for Rotaractors to transfer to a Rotary Club when they are ready to do so.
Ensuring more hands-on support for Rotarians and Rotaractors
Some members may be curious about what the pilot offers their clubs and overall membership experience. If you haven't heard of it yet, I encourage you to look at the Rotary South Pacific Specialist Hub. The Specialist Hub is a website for members, by members. You can connect with over 40 Rotary specialists who provide free, confidential advice across various topics that affect clubs. From public image to project insurance, there's someone available to help.
Encouraging collaboration across the zone
Another one of Rotary South Pacific's key initiatives is, of course, Rotary Community Groups and Leaders. All clubs across the South Pacific are part of a Rotary Community Group. These groups provide the ideal setting for your clubs to collaborate, scale up projects and amplify your club's impact in your area, making Rotary attractive to new members and augmenting the experience for all. We have been energised by the amazing work Rotary Community Groups are undertaking and look forward to more as the Rotary South Pacific Pilot continues to mature.
A shared vision
So, as you can see Rotary South Pacific has built a strong foundation with many opportunities for you and your club to benefit. That breadth of activity reminds us that our success is not defined by one project or one result. It is the collective effort of many people working toward a shared vision. We look forward to seeing what we can achieve together.
